The Sustainability Committee was formed in September to oversee the development and implementation of our strategy and policies on sustainability as directed by Council and to advise Council on sustainability matters.
The committee chair is Alicia Instone and the Vice Chair is Jonathan Moodie.
The committee set itself the following goals:
- To provide thought leadership on sustainability for CIPA and the patent attorney profession.
- To explore, promote and oversee the implementation of policies and practical measures leading to a more sustainable CIPA and, by extension, patent attorney profession.
- To explore, promote and oversee the implementation of sustainable working practices for staff, Council, committees, and volunteer members.
- To advise Council on targets or metrics in relation to sustainability and to monitor progress towards those targets.
- To work in cooperation with other CIPA committees where there are shared interests in sustainability matters.
- To support Council in responding to consultations by government, official bodies and other external organisations on sustainability matters.
